Alois - Food habits in the Swabian village in the 1940s-1950s

Alois is a retired psychologist from Germany. Born 1939, he had grown up in a little village in the German region of upper Swabia as the youngst son of a farmer's family. In this podcast he speaks about the culinary (or sustenation) habits there, with many foods being home-grown, and very little things bought in the village shop. We also learn a recipe for a very simple Swabian porridge made from a lightly baked wheat semolina.

Alois ist ein pensionierter Psychologe. Geboren 1939, wuchs er in einem kleinen Dorf in Oberschwaben als jüngster Sohn einer Bauernfamilie auf. In diesem Podcast spricht er über die Ernährungsewohnheiten auf dem Dorf jener Zeit, wo viele Lebensmittel selbst angebaut und nur sehr wenige Dinge im gekauft wurden. Wir lernen auch ein Rezept kennen für "Schwarz Muas" eine landestypische Speise aus leicht gebackenem Weizengrieß, Wasser, Butter und etwas Salz.
